This changes only what you hear. It never mutes anyone in Google Meet or changes your microphone.

1

Start private audio controls

This one-time step for each call lets the extension make a voice truly silent—not just change an icon.

2

Choose who is speaking

Ask that person to speak alone for a moment. Their moving audio lane will reveal itself below.

3

Name their moving lane, then mute it

Blue bars move when audio is heard. First click This is [name] on the moving lane. Then use Mute locally.

Your audio lanes will appear here after step 1.

Checking this Meet call…

Why do I need to name a lane? Google Meet provides several reusable audio lanes but does not tell Chrome which lane belongs to which name. Once you name the moving lane, the extension remembers it for this call. Recheck it if people join, leave, or change microphone state.
